Best Tops for Every Body Shape

Find your body shape with the body shape calculator for women, then jump to the guide for your shape below.

• Tops for hourglass

The job here is to keep the waist visible, so tops that end at or just below it work best.

Try: Fitted knits, tees and bodysuits that follow the torso.

• Tops for pear

Tops are your easiest chance to add visual weight to the upper half.

Try: Boat, off-the-shoulder, square and wide scoop necklines.

• Tops for inverted triangle

Tops should keep the shoulders quiet and add softness at the bust.

Try: V-necks, scoop necks and deeper necklines that break up the shoulder line.

• Tops for rectangle

Tops with structure and shaping can build the look of curves.

Try: Peplum tops, ruffles and gathered hems.

• Tops for apple

Tops that drape and create a vertical line help your proportions.

Try: V-necks, wrap fronts and open collars.
