About Find My Shape and how the calculator works
Find My Shape is a free body shape calculator with outfit guides for each result. It exists to help you choose clothes that fit and feel good, using three tape measurements.
How your shape is decided
The calculator compares your bust, waist and hips as ratios. Rules are checked in order and the first match wins:
- Apple: waist is at least 85% of the wider of bust and hips.
- Pear: hips are at least 5% bigger than the bust.
- Inverted triangle: bust is at least 5% bigger than the hips.
- Hourglass: bust and hips within 5%, and waist at most 75% of the wider one.
- Rectangle: bust and hips within 5%, and waist between 75% and 85% of the wider one.
There is no single scientific standard for these cutoffs. They follow the most common convention in styling guides, and other sites draw the lines in slightly different places. When your measurements are within about 1.5 percentage points of a line, the calculator shows the neighbouring shape too.
What the advice is
The outfit guides use common tailoring and styling principles: where a hem, seam or neckline sits, how a fabric drapes, and which cuts tend to need alterations. They are general suggestions and your own taste always comes first.
What it is not
This is a styling tool. It does not assess health, weight or fitness, and body shape says nothing about any of those. Nothing on this site is medical advice.
